Blankets
Do babies need blankets?
Blankets for babies are generally used as a swaddle to wrap them up as snugly as possible for warmth and security. It is not recommended to have blankets on your babies during their first year as they might cause suffocation leading to sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). Babies tend to move their arms and legs about, and could kick the blankets such that it covers their face or obstruct their breathing.
How to keep my baby warm without blankets?
Besides swaddling, you can add an extra layer of clothing or a sleep sack to give your baby the extra warmth.
What material is best for a baby blanket?
You can look out for blankets made of cotton as they are soft, absorbent and gentle on baby's skin. Organic cotton used for Doomoo Blankets and Pehr Blankets are the perfect fabric of choice as it is non-toxic, hypoallergenic and free from harmful chemicals.
